Life can present us with obstacles that are overwhelming and difficult. In these moments we may need support so that we can make changes and move forward. I help individuals and families grow through challenges and crisis so they are better equipped to cope with future difficulties.
I strive to create an environment where your concerns are heard and it is safe to explore some of the causes of complex and challenging emotions. I enjoy working with youth and their families to create individualized treatment plans that foster positive growth. I utilize a number of evidence based therapy approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Within family based work, I frequently utilize the Collaborative Problem Solving model and other systems oriented approaches to improve family communication and relationships.
I received a BA in Psychology from Linfield College and an MA in Counseling from Pacific University. I have education and training in utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing. Throughout the year I attend a number of trainings related to working with youth and families to maintain my licensure.

In our initial work together, you can expect me to ask questions so that I can get to know you and your goals for therapy. You can expect that I will actively listen to your concerns and will give you the space to express your feelings without judgement. You can anticipate that we will actively work together to create a plan that works for you. You can also expect me to use humor at times so we can build a positive working relationship. And sometimes you just need to laugh!
My passion is working with children and adolescents. I have 8 years of clinical experience working with children and teens in a variety of settings including psychiatric residential treatment facilities and within a school setting facilitating one on one ABA treatment. Most recently, I worked as a behavioral health care coordinator for youth with complex behavioral health needs. I have also participated in volunteer work with children and adolescents as a mentor and at a camp for youth with cognitive and physical challenges.
